Pangkor Island is a hidden gem with a simple, unpretentious charm. Because it’s off the beaten path, travelers often find that a little extra time and the right information are key to truly enjoying it.

Everyone has a different amount of holiday time to spare, but I created this website because I believe that having the right insights can open up so many more ways to enjoy your stay. While I couldn’t fit every single memory from the 25 yearsI’ve spent visiting—totaling about 50 months on the island—I’ve packed this site with enough local knowledge to make even a first-time visitor feel a sense of déjà vu, as if they’re thinking, “Wait, is this already my fifth time here?"

I hope this information serves as a helpful guide whenever you’re feeling unsure or need a hand.

Finally, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the people of Pangkor Island, who welcomed me like family from the very beginning. I also want to thank the fellow Japanese travelers who kindly put up with the “friendly meddling" from me and my local friends.
