- Dryer: RM7 for a 30-minute cycle.
- Payment Method: These machines only accept special tokens, which you must exchange for at the shop.
Quick Guide: 3 Easy Steps
Pro Tip: If you only need to wash your clothes, RM7 (7 tokens) is enough. Before deciding on the dryer, check out our money-saving tip in Step 3!
1. Exchange Cash for Tokens
First, locate the Token Changer machine to exchange your bills.
- Banknotes accepted: RM1 to RM20.
- Important: The machine generally does not provide change in cash, so only insert the exact amount you want to convert into tokens.
Need help? If you need change for larger bills or aren’t sure how the machines work, ask the staff at the back of the laundry[cite: 1]. Since this facility is managed by Warung Manshore or the Pangkor Island Chalet, you can also approach their staff for assistance.
2. Wash Your Clothes
- Load the machine: Place your clothes inside.
- Check the detergent: Detergent is usually added automatically, but it’s a good idea to check the detergent dispenser. If it looks empty, please notify the staff.
- Start the cycle: While there are complex instructions about water levels on the machine, you can keep it simple: Insert 7 tokens into the slot and press the green button.
- Wait: The wash will take about 30 minutes—plenty of time to grab a coffee or explore nearby.
3. Dry Your Clothes
To use the dryer, simply move your clothes over, insert your tokens into the slot on the right, and press the green button.
Note: Each additional token adds 5 minutes to the drying time.
💡 Traveler’s Tip: Save Money & Protect Your Clothes
If you have delicate items that might shrink, or if you’re traveling on a budget, you don’t necessarily need the dryer.
- Take your wet clothes back to your hotel and hang them on the terrace during the day.
- Alternatively, hang them in your room and set the air conditioner to “Dry" (dehumidification) mode. Lightweight or thin fabrics will usually be bone-dry by morning!
