Bathing in a jungle waterfall

It instantly washes away the unpleasant feeling of sticky skin caused by sweat and seawater.

You can see wild animals, marine life, and insects up close

On the power lines. On the surface of the sea. On the eaves of shops. Creatures that you can see if you just happen to look around.

Paradise for cats

🐱This might be irresistible for cat lovers.

If you’re lucky

On days with extremely low tides, it’s possible to walk all the way to Giam Island offshore.

Teluk Nipah during peak season

Pangkor Island is bustling with domestic tourists during peak seasons, such as Malaysian public holidays and weekends.
This video (30 seconds) shows the evening scene of the bustling Teluk Nipah beachfront.
*Background music will play while the video is playing.

Teluk Nipah coastline

While the beach is bustling with many tourists during peak season, it’s so quiet during off-peak periods like weekdays that it can be difficult to find an open restaurant.
So, if you’re having trouble finding a place to eat for lunch or dinner, please refer to the “Recommended Food & Restaurants" section *Note.

Whether this can be called a waterfall is another matter

🏃 Access
Head inland from the coastal road and follow the small sign that says “Water Fall" for about 5 minutes on foot.
Follow the black pipe that emerges from the jungle, entering the animal trail from the edge of the road, and continue following the pipe for about a minute to reach your destination.
*It seems that this was developed as a trekking course in 2022.

Map of waterfall on pangkor island

Whether or not this can really be called a “waterfall" is a question, but the water flowing from deep in the jungle is clean and cold, washing away the stickiness of sweat and seawater in one go.

If you look over there

Teluk Nipah is home to a large number of wildlife.

Relatively easy to spot on land :
monkeys🐒, squirrels🐿️, and hornbills🦅.

If you’re even luckier, you might see sea turtles🐢 and dolphins🐬 at sea.

On the rocks of the sea :
Marine otters 🦦 and marine iguanas 🦎

In the jungle and grasslands :
monitor lizards 🐊 and Caucasian beetles.

You can see creatures that you don’t normally get to see up close.

*Monkeys🐒 may even steal your bag in search of food, so please be careful to keep an eye on your belongings on the beach.

This might be irresistible for cat lovers.

This is not limited to Teluk Nipah, but there are many cats on Pangkor Island.

The locals feed and care for cats whether they are pets or strays, so friendly cats can often be seen scurrying about at the feet of tourists walking along the coastal road.

Enchanted by the sunset

Beautiful sunset over the Straits of Malacca.

You can enjoy the sunset view while dining at a restaurant along the coast, or while swaying in a hammock on the beach.

On high tide days

At low tide, you can walk across to the offshore island of Giam, or have the crabs🦀 and shellfish🐚 you’ve caught while digging cooked for you in a restaurant, offering a variety of ways to enjoy the activity.

I enjoyed a delicious BBQ with friends.
