Hentian Duta Bus Terminal

This is an old bus terminal located about 8km (11 minutes) by car north of KL Sentral.
Although the number of buses is limited, express buses to Lumut and Seri Manjung depart .

KL Sentral Departure Hall(KL CITY AIR TERMINAL)

There are only two flights, departing at 10:00 and 17:30,
but this is the most recommended option for those staying near KL Sentral and whose departure times suit them.

There are two ways to get to Pangkor Island by express bus.

Case1.
Aiming for Lumut

Advantages: No transfers along the way

As an example, we will explain how to buy a highway bus ticket to Lumut.

At the ticket counter (any number is fine), tell the staff where you want to go to Lumut.
There are several bus companies that go to Lumut, and they will present you with buses in order of earliest departure time.

The express bus fare to Lumt is about Rm30 (online reservations start from about Rm26⁺⁺) *Reference for 2024
※You will need to present your passport when purchasing a ticket.

📝Flights via Ipoh will increase travel time

Express buses that go through Ipoh and its surrounding areas take about an hour longer than other routes.
Kesatuan Express definitely goes through Ipoh, but there seem to be other buses that go through Ipoh, so it’s just a matter of luck.

The most important thing is to ask the staff about the arrival time at Lumut , and then decide whether to wait for the next flight or take the earliest flight.
The estimated arrival time is 4.5 hours after the departure time.

Is it cold inside the express bus?

  • Inside the bus to protect yourself from the air conditioning too cold, It’s useful to have wear a thin jacket such as a front-opening hoodie.
  • Before boarding always use the toilet let’s get it done.
There are short toilet breaks along the way, but the weather is making it necessary to hydrate, and the air-conditioned interior of the bus makes it easy to feel the need to use the toilet.
(I have had to force the bus to stop at service areas on the highway several times.)
  • Moreover, toilet breaks are surprisingly short (about 5 min), and the bus sometimes departs without even checking the number of passengers.
also important to let the driver know you are there when you get off.
The air conditioning inside Malaysian express buses is generally too cold.

🚕Taking a taxi is the best option

If you plan to stay near Pangkor Town it is possible to walk there, but if not it will be difficult to walk to your accommodation.

  1. After disembarking, turn left once you have crossed the pier.
  2. As you walk along the passage with the sea on your left, you will see a building housing the ticket office and souvenir shop.
  3. There will be many taxi drivers waiting near the exit on the right side just before that building.
  4. Once you tell them your destination, the driver will guide you to the taxi parked in the parking lot.
  5. The taxi is a bright pink minivan
(but it is not air-conditioned) .

*If you ride an unlicensed motorbike taxi or car, you do so at your own risk.

taxis are pink

The fare from the port varies depending on the accommodation area, but as long as you are in the area, the price is the same whether you are in front of the hotel or on the beach, so just tell the driver " Hotel X in X (accommodation area) " when you board.

Tabibito001

To avoid any unpleasant experiences.
Taxis on Pangkor Island are not metered and are determined by destination and number of passengers.
However, some taxi drivers, if they only have one or two passengers, will ask other passengers to join them and charge them a fare.

You can ignore this, but if you are not traveling with a passenger, the driver may ask you to pay an additional fare when you get off, so be sure to check the fare before boarding.
